NURSERY PROGRAM encourages trust and socialization in a loving and nurturing environment.

EXPLORER/TODDLER PROGRAM involves exploration, large and fine motor skills, socialization and language development through literacy, music, arts/crafts and outdoor activities.

PLAY AND LEARN PROGRAM focuses on emotional, physical and intellectual development using teacher guided activities in a small group setting.

PRE-ACADEMY PROGRAM emphasizes interactive play, problem solving, negotiating with peers, independence and self help skills.

ACADEMY PROGRAM focuses on fine motor language, creative expression and listening skills through a “center-based” curriculum. Throughout The Baby Cottage, the weekly themed curriculum is designed to teach without pressure, in a learn-through-play environment. We focus on the “process” and not the “product” so we can encourage self-expression, confidence and individual thought. Our goal is to exceed the State of Connecticut benchmarks and guidelines in preparing children for kindergarten.

FOR OUR OLDER CHILDREN we have Tom Weber (award winning children’s entertainer) coming in twice a month, for music and fun, and Carole Stewart our story-time lady, coming in once a month. Carole brings to life our favorite stories, rhymes and poems, using puppets, flannel boards and music.

In the Infant/Toddler and Play/Learn classroom a child/teacher ratio of 4 to 1 is maintained.

In the Pre-Academy and Academy classrooms a ratio of 8 to 1 is maintained.
